Why choose Private Pilates Sessions?

Private Pilates Sessions are a fantastic way to receive bespoke tuition & tailored advice to build confidence, work towards your goals & really boost your progress.

Here are some of the many ways I could help you:

Private Sessions before joining a Group Class

Private Sessions offer a great "Introduction to Pilates", allowing you to become familiar with the fundamentals and learn how to modify exercises to meet your specific needs, ready for joining a group class at a later date.

These 1:1 sessions are personalised to suit your goals, fitness level, and preferences, ensuring you progress at a pace and intensity that feels right for you.

You’ll have dedicated time to address any questions and where appropriate may receive a customised homework plan to kickstart your Pilates practice.

Private sessions are especially beneficial and recommended if you're recovering from an injury, have been referred by a medical professional, or need specific exercise modifications due to certain conditions.

A 5% discount is available if booking at the same time as booking your first block of classes.

Pilates for Back Pain.

Pilates is highly effective for alleviating back pain by strengthening the core, improving posture, and promoting balanced mobility throughout the spine. By targeting deep stabilising muscles, including those in the abdominals and lower back, Pilates creates a stable foundation for the spine, improving overall alignment and reducing discomfort.

The low-impact, controlled movements encourage proper posture and body mechanics addressing the muscle imbalances that can lead to long-term pain. Pilates also incorporates breathing techniques that support core stability and help aid relaxation.

Additionally, the gentle stretching and mobilisation of the spine and surrounding muscles enhance flexibility, improve mobility, and further reduce discomfort. This combination of strengthening, flexibility, and mindful movement makes Pilates an effective and therapeutic exercise for both managing and preventing back pain.

"Pilates is known as a very effective way of preventing and managing low back pain. Medical authorities are increasingly recognising that adapted exercise on a one-to-one or small group basis is one of the best ways of helping someone with ongoing low back pain. This is underlined in the most recent guidelines published by NICE, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence ..."  Body Control Pilates®

Osteoarthritis and Joint Pain.

Waiting for, hoping to avoid or recovering from joint surgery.

Pilates can be an excellent form of exercise for individuals with osteoarthritis or those preparing for or recovering from joint surgery. It offers a low-impact, controlled environment that can help improve mobility, strength, and overall well-being without putting unnecessary strain on the joints.

For individuals with osteoarthritis, one of the main challenges is maintaining or improving joint mobility. Pilates exercises focus on controlled movement staying within your comfort zone, to gradually improve flexibility and range of motion. This can help reduce stiffness and improve joint function over time.

Before surgery, Pilates can help optimise joint function and muscle strength, potentially speeding up recovery. After surgery, Pilates can help you to regain strength and mobility in a controlled manner, improving your chances of a quicker and more effective recovery.

Always follow the guidance of your medical practitioner.
